oh, that looks great! i was swatching my yarn last night, though i have not measured it. i’m also using a substitute yarn.
i do have some technical questions though. i started to draw my own schematic based on the gauge for the sweater, and the number of rows or inches it says to work. because this sweater is knit side to side, the row gauge can be important for the body (since the sleeves are only knit for length). how accurate were you with your gauge swatch? did you knit the pattern as written, or did you make some adjustments? i also thought to go ahead and cast on for the body sections in one fell swoop, vs. increases in cast on sections. then, i would work short rows for doing the increases in the body shaping — i thought that might make it smoother for seaming those edges together later.
i love that chocolate brown too — mine’s going to be goblin green, with a high angora content!

Kari, I visited the link to your slipper knit-along. I LOVE those crocheted Turkish slippers! I’m a socknitter which is where I discovered you and your loving knittine objects. Where might I find the pattern for those slippers, please? It looks from one of the pictures on the knitalong site like it’s in a magazine somewhere. I’d need a pattern to get started I’m sure–or maybe I could just wing it like you did with an outline of the bottom of my foot. I’m getting so adventurous these days. Thanks for the inspiration–and if you happen to know where the pattern came from, please let me know. Grace

I really like your sweater. I love that chocolate brown…is it the Debbie Bliss? My Lara is currently still on hold, with Holiday present knitting taking priority. Hope to finish it after the holiday. I only have about 15 rows left, and then the sew up! Cheers.
