    Think Pink Footies

footiesI had one ball of this pink Sock It to Me Collection Esprit from elann.com and since it is cotton/elastic I thought it would make a cute pair of ballerina style footies. I’m making the pattern up as I go along, so I may or may not actually end up with footies, but I’m hoping to. ;)

I’ve decided I need to work the Kiri pattern in a little thicker yarn first, to get the hang of it, so that will be on hold until I can get more yarn.

    Started Kiri & finished blankie

baby blanketFirst, and most important, I have a brand new little nephew! He is absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to meet him in person. Here is a pic of the blanket I made him. I hope it keeps him snuggly.

And here is my start of the Kiri shawl. I have definitely frogged more rows than I have knit. I was getting very frustrated with it so I decided to pin it out and see if it really did look like anything besides a mass of yarn. I was pleasantly surprised. I think I’ll keep knitting. :)

    Upgrading today

I’ll be upgrading Wordpress today, and I’ll likely have to make some changes to my template, so if you notice things looking wonky here, that’s why. It’ll be fixed soon.

    Finished Milinda front!

I finished the front of Milinda last night and started on the sleeves, two at a time to make sure I get them the same. I need an easy, portable project to knit on the Sundays that DH has to stay after church for business meetings. He happens to have one coming up this Sunday, so I kinda need it now. I think I’ll go to Hobby Lobby this evening and see if I can find some beads to go with some sock yarn I have and start some beaded pulse warmers. If I can get the beads strung beforehand, they should be good a good take-along project. I found a couple of free patterns on the net and one of those should work.

    Knitting Milinda

I‘ve finished the back and am about 75% of the way through the front. Milinda backHere’s an unblocked photo of the back. That little brown spot is just a beaded stitch marker. I really like the Elsepeth Lavold cotton. It is a little splitty, but oh so soft and nice and drapey. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the balls are not center pull and pulling it from the outside always results in a tangled mass a little over halfway into the ball. I waste a lot of time unraveling that mess that I’d rather spend knitting.
I’m trying to decide on a project for the think pink knitalong. I’ve got a couple of skeins of woolease in a pretty Blush Heather but probably not enough to make anything by itself. I’ve got the beautifully pink Happy Dance lace weight yarn coming in any day now that may or may not be a future Kiri shawl. I need to decide on something.
