    More Flower Fairies

nullnullI’ve been working on a couple of Flower Fairy dolls for a commission, a boy and a girl, and they are about done. Kinda cute, aren’t they? These are a tiny 4 1/4″ high. I’ve also been working on some Mermaid dolls that will soon be for sale, but they are currently without heads and don’t want to be photographed in that condition.

Nothing new in the knitting department. I only knit at night and I haven’t been home at night in days and days. Branching Out and Flower Basket Shawl

    Illustration Friday theme - Nourishment

My son said the ninnies were entirely too human looking so I tried to make them hairier, but I still think they are a bit lewd. Oh well, it has been a good many years since I have seen baby piglets having dinner so this will just have to do.

    May Month of Softies

flower fairyT his is my Month of Softies submission for May. She is 4 1/4″ tall from head to toe. Her skirt, bodice, hair, and antennae are make from silk flower parts, and her wings are feathers. Her body is sewn from a soft peachskin fabric. The pattern is my own.

    Purse from a Vintage Book

Book PurseI found 3 very cool books at the Goodwill a while back and bought them to make purses. I love the way this one turned out, but I don’t need 3 of them so I am hoping to sell a couple. They have the absolute cutest pictures on them, and fun titles, too. You can see more pictures of this one, including the inside and a closeup detail, on the eBay ad. Click here to buy (heehee, a little subliminal suggestion), or just to window shop. I haven’t made the other two yet, but one is lavendar and one a very pale pink. I think this green one may be my favorite, though. It is a prettier green than the photo shows and I love the little organ grinder and monkey on the cover.

    Branching Out Started

nullFinally got this started. Most of this was done in one episode of Stargate. I can’t believe how fast this is going with the Kidsilk Haze. I’d have more done, but I did have to tink back a few times. I don’t know how defined the lace pattern will be with this fuzzy yarn, but it is light as air. The pattern is free over at knitty.com
