    Collage ATCs, Month of Softies

    bee atc

    .

Two posts in one day, aren’t you impressed? These are collage ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) That I just finished. I made the bee for myself, since my name means honeybee. The bottom 2 are fabric collage and the Blue Bug one is also my submission for June’s Month of Softies.

    Altered Puzzle Pieces

Mermaid puzzleThese are two altered puzzle pieces I just finished. The mermaid is for my own puzzle. I will send off the remaining pieces to other puzzlers in my group and they will create mermaid pieces for me and send them back. I can’t wait to see them all put back toghether! I did some detailing on the tail with Pearl Ex powders, which gave a real fish scaly irridescense to it, but it didn’t show in the scan.

The other piece is for a fellow puzzler. Her theme is Songs of the Decades and I had the 1980s. My piece depicts the song, Your kiss is on my List. Remember that one?

    Yeah, I know….

I need to sit down and make a REAL post and I will, I really will. Soon. For now, I am just going to add a link to a new spread I did in my altered book because I don’t have time to resize and add the photo here at the moment. I do have other things to show and talk about, including a little redwork, another book, and some wild pink socks in progress. But it will have to wait a little longer. So go look at my new altered pages and come back here and tell me what you think.

Edit: I wasn’t satisfied with this and changed it up a bit. So the thumbnail doesn’t really match the full-size image anymore. I’m a bit happier with it now.

    Altered Book first pages

I‘m still here, just haven’t had a chance to post lately. Here is the first spread in an altered book I have begun working on. I preserved select words on the page to make my own “found poetry.” The preserved text reads, “I stepped back through the gate and into the sun. So cold and pale, like a frozen stone. My grief was not forgotten BUT my pain was knowledge and I could bear it.” The little vellum tag says, “Write your hurts in the sand but carve your blessings in stone.”
