Altered Puzzle Pieces

These are two altered puzzle pieces I just finished. The mermaid is for my own puzzle. I will send off the remaining pieces to other puzzlers in my group and they will create mermaid pieces for me and send them back. I can’t wait to see them all put back toghether! I did some detailing on the tail with Pearl Ex powders, which gave a real fish scaly irridescense to it, but it didn’t show in the scan.
The other piece is for a fellow puzzler. Her theme is Songs of the Decades and I had the 1980s. My piece depicts the song, Your kiss is on my List. Remember that one?

I just recently started altering puzzles, and I just want to say that I love the mermaid piece and would be extremely interested to see the completed work. Thanks for letting me look.

I love the puzzle pieces. It is something I would really really like to have a go at, I have so many questions to ask…. like …. do you use blank pieces as your base? And how do you put the backgrounds on….. is it a case of find the right picture and cutting very carefully? I apologise for my very naive questions …. I only made my first piece of altered art three days ago!!
I would love to hear from you …. I am inspired by your work.
