Vines
We visited Afton Villa for a picnic and some photography this past weekend The flowers were beautiful! Afton Villa was an antebellum plantation, but the home was destroyed by fire in 1963. Some of the foundation and a couple of partial walls are all that remains of the house, but the gardens are still there and have been lovingly kept up all these years. I came home with flowers on the brain, so I did this collage/painting in my moleskine. The leaves were done with a negative painting technique over a collage of phone book papers and the flowers were hand-drawn and cut from magazine paper. The colors didn’t scan as brilliant as they are in real life, but you get the idea.

That is really nicely done! I love the phonebook collage – !
I’m in love with this, and I’m blown away that you used the pages of a phone book. Brilliant.
I love the depth of colour in these pages Melisa – gorgeous! Thanks for reminding me not to chuck out all the phonebooks when we move!!! It’s a nightmare, isn’t it? =)
These are pretty… as for eps, yes any will do, you just need the stout card and enough ep to make a good indentation. You see I am on the Inspirational Team!!?? So excited!!
