Altered Silver Spoon

March 29th, 2009 | Categories: Altered Art, General

The Awfully Big Art Adventure challenge this week is altered cutlery. I just happened to have a tiny silver baby spoon that I bought at a pawn shop last summer, thinking I’d alter it. I never got around to it until this challenge, so thank you, Patty, for being guest host and for giving us such a fun challenge.
I made a pendant with my spoon. I know the photo isn’t very good, but we’re supposed to have nice weather tomorrow so maybe I can get a better one then. The text is rêver, which means “to dream” in French. I alternated faux freshwater pearls and silver-plated seed beads to hang it from. It is slightly longer than choker length. The little spoon was so pretty, I wanted to keep it simple. Plus, I didn’t want to have to buy anything to finish it because I wanted to make it now, LOL. I love the way it turned out.

Thanks for entering my Spring Giveaway – I am finding that not everyone can become a ‘follower’ I thought if you just click on and follow the directions or join Google, if you don’t have a corresponding blog…..Anyway – I will just do a random pick from everyone!! Good luck and thanks for stopping by!!!!

You’ve made a super job of this and a necklace anyone would be thrilled to wear. I particularly like the pearls you’ve used, and the handle of that spoon is just so pretty! Thanks for joining in our challenge.
