GPP Crusade #30

April 4th, 2009 | Categories: General, Journal, collage

I recently found the GPP Street Team Crusades (challenges), and spent hours looking through the past projects people had submitted. Very cool stuff! I decided to play along once the April challenge was posted. Crusade #30 is “Cat Got Your Tongue?” and we are to use words in our journals. I don’t like my handwriting and don’t usually use a lot of it in my journaling. I prefer to paste in one or two words clipped from a magazine or book, that relate to what I was thinking when I made the page. But for this spread I actually just wrote right on there with my own sloppy handwriting. I tried to make a good use of the space, so I could just write a little, but it would fill the area and look like more. I used a Sakura Souffle pen, which worked very well right over the acrylic paint.

What a lovely page; the colours are glorious. And your handwriting isn’t sloppy at all – not text-book perfect sure – but then whose is? I think it’s great that you have used your own handwriting.N ice to meet you through the Crusades btw.

I don’t know what you mean about sloppy handwriting, I think your handwriting is beautiful! But I think johanna is right, we’re very critical of our own handwriting. At any rate, it’s a great enhancement to these beautiful pages. I love the vintage feel of the whole piece, and your colors are so warm. Absolutely beautiful!

I love the warm colours. The page is great and you have great handwriting. I am gooing to try that pen, I have the worst luck with pens over acrylic paint.

What a beautiful spread. I love the rich warm colors. I think we all get too self-conscious about our writing. Instead, we need to learn to accept it just as we do the size of our nose, the color of our eyes, etc.
That being said, I think your writing is very nice and expressive.

What gorgeous layered pages! I love your writing! I think everyone hates their own handwriting!

Your layout is so balanced and the colors so rich and yummy. My dear if that is messy handwriting, I’d hate to think what you’d call much of my handwriting. Your script is loose and lovely.

Ahh the colors of this page, the writing to the side and I love this. I also love what you have journaled (your writing is nice. not perfect IMO is better than perfect). I too like to use a word or phrase from a magazine. It’s just fun! Love these pages you have made. And oh yes! I wish I were all of those things some days too, and like you, am very happy, mostly, to just be me ;)

LOVE your choice of colors and find your writing to be very wonderful. The whole page is indeed charismatic, stylish, outgoing, mysterious and beautiful. No doubt a direct reflection of you.
    Best-
