Hand Carved Hand Stamp

April 7th, 2009 | Categories: General

Hubby cooked Polynesian Hamburgers (pineapple & teriyaki) and hotdogs on the grill last night, which got me out of most of the cooking. I’d been looking through the old crusades that I missed at Green Pepper Press and Crusade # 18 was to cut your own rubber stamp. I had a little corner of  the rubber stuff leftover from my last stamp cutting, so while I waiting for the sweet potato fries to bake, I carved this stamp hand stamp. It’s a little over 2 1/2″ long. I might get some more rubber (or whatever this stuff is called) and make the matching hand. I don’t really do a lot of stamping, but I’d like to have more hand-carved ones to use in my journals.  So far, I’ve got this hand, a big flying fish, a bee (for my name, Melisa) a puppy, and a little face.

Melisa – terrific carving! Thanks for sharing with the team, and for the reminder to make our own tools. Well done!

Whoa, way cool! I like that one. And you did such a good job! I have trouble trying to carve that much detail.

This is SOOO much better than a purchased stamp! Just love how you have done it. It should make a very nice addition to your journaling.
