A Barefoot Beauty and a hand-carved stamp

April 13th, 2009 | Categories: Altered Art, Doodles, General, Other Crafts

Another Barefoot Beauty. :) This is Bethany and I think she is my favorite so far. I’ve got 2 more waiting to be finished up and scanned but I’ve gotten side-tracked.
This is a stamp I carved last night. I should have put it on a flatter surface when I actually stamped it on the paper, but you get the idea. It’s about 4 inches square. I used it on today’s journal page. I’ll upload that later.

Wonderful stamp ! What did you use to carve it ? I mean not the too, but the medium ? Just curious. I always wanted to make some, but it seems difficult.

I wish my hand carved stamps could look like yours! I need to try another one or two. My first venture with hand carved stamps was hysterical! I think you just inspired me!! Marlynn

It’s a soft, rubbery stuff. The block I’ve got now is called Speedy Cut and I bought it at Michaels. You can also get it at Hobby-Lobby but I think the name may be different. It’s very easy to carve into.

LOVE the feathery look of this leaf branch stamp! Nice job…tiny parts…number of hours to carve? Priceless!
