Serendipity & Synchronicity

June 16th, 2009 | Categories: General, Journal

The theme this month over at True North Arts
is serendipity and synchronicity.  Kathryn made a wonderful  compass in her journal and invites us to make our own or to write about serendipity, synchronicity, or both. I had to make a compass for myself. It didn’t scan very well. The background is a mix of blues and greens but seems to have lost all the greens in the scan. I may try to photograph it tomorrow, but I’m usually pretty useless with the camera. Anyway, have a look at my compass and then head on over to True North Arts and see what it’s all about. If you participate, you might even win a prize.

This is a wonderful page. Very personal. Don’t our babies grow up so fast. That really tugged at my heart.

I love your compass. This will be a page in your journal you will enjoy going back to. I like how you put yourself in the center of your compass. I can relate to the items you’ve selected for each of the directions. I do think however, that your son will look to you for protection but in very different ways. My son leaves in less than two weeks for 1-1/2 months to spend his summer with his dad. I guess I’m getting a taste of that empty nest. Like you I’ll fill my time with reading and arting.

Thanks for sharing the creative journey with the group. I’m sure your journal page will inspire many others to make a compass of their own.

My scanner ignores all the blue in pictures so I understand your frustration here perfectly!

This is beautiful, and journalling around the compass your answers to the questions you pose yourself is a very good idea. It combines an eternal piece with a moment in your life. A very touching piece, thank you for sharing!

Great compass page. It captures so much about you and you did it so well. The blue background is very rich. I feel that way about my son’s growing up too, sad in a way that they won’t need me as much anymore… excited about their futures and about my hubby and myself future together too. Great idea for a page. I will head over to that site you posted.
Thanks for sharing your heart with us.

Love your spread! We have been discussing serendipity and synchronicity in “The Artist’s Way”. About letting your skeptic wall down and opening your mind to the possibility of synchronicity, and letting the happy coincidences just come to you.

What a wonderful compass. Something you will turn to again and again.
